Maria Paz Gaviria is an art historian from Columbia University, currently Director at ARTBO, a program for the strengthening of the arts of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota. Under her leadership, ARTBOhasconsolidated itself as the program that most highly impacts the arts scene in Colombia and as an artistic referent in Latin America for the scope of its program. ARTBO|International Art Fair of Bogota is one of the principal platforms for commercialization and cultural exchange in the region, spearheads the internationalization of the Colombian art scene and serves as a catalyst for the artistic offer in Bogota. The program also includes ARTBO| Salas year-round exhibitions in three venues around the city aimed at professionalization of artist and curators in the local sector and ARTBO| Fin de Semana, a citywide event that integrates a circuit of exhibition venues around the city with special programming and extended hours. Gaviria was formerly at Whitney Museum (New York), Sperone Westwater Gallery (New York) and the Prospect 1 Biennial (New Orleans).
