María Clara Garcia

Founder & CEO, VISIONARIUM

María Clara Garcia is an international youth education specialist with more than 35 years of experience as a professor, mentor, and educational consultant. María Clara is a distinguished professor at Nueva Granada School in Bogota, Colombia and Marymount School in Barranquilla, Colombia, where she taught different subjects and developed programs that provide students with the tools and environment to develop their full potential and prepare them to succeed outside of the classroom. In Barranquilla she founded BAMUN, a student based model United Nations for students across Colombia, which grew into COLMUN, a national United Nations that allowed her students to keep involved beyond high school, and competed at international levels, such as Washington DC, and New York. Her students have gone on to become members of Congress, the House of Representatives, executives at multinational companies, lawyers, innovators, and social reformers. Her success as an educator is attributable to her unique commitment to each student, understanding his or her individual learning style, instilling confidence, and encouraging creative problem solving as an integral component of learning.

María Clara currently serves as the Secretary General of the United Nations Association of Colombia, UNACOLOMBIA and is the founder of VISIONARIUM, a comprehensive program in New York for high school students from around the world that serves as a creativity and leadership incubator with a social impact focus, where she continues to innovate successful strategies for student success and youth empowerment, leadership, and development.
